Description: Stanley Cup fever hit Boston in a big way in June 2011 as the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks battled for the world hockey championship. In Boston Public Garden, someone adorned the iconic statues of Make Way for Ducklings (as well as the statue of George Washington) with their own personalized Bruins jerseys – complete with a player numbers and names! For the first time in 39 years, the Bruins won the Stanley Cup a few days later!
Also featured here, the statue commemorating Bobby Orr making the winning goal in the 1970 Stanley Cup championship at North Station, near the former site of the original Boston Garden.
