Q. What’s Gillis Photos all about?

A. I offer professional quality prints in a variety of sizes. Most images are also available for licensing. You can purchase professionally printed, ready to frame prints, or download images in TIF (or JPG) for a variety of uses. GillisPhotos.com is a family-friendly website (no nudes, no objectionable content). My photographic images are perfect for framing. Perfect for your advertising, graphic design, marketing, publication, web site, or multimedia project.

Q. What type of photography does GillisPhotos offer?

A. I specialize in New England area photography, as well as beautiful mountain and seashore photographs, nature, travel destinations (Boston, New Hampshire, Maine, Italy, Niagara Falls, Washington DC) seasons, holidays (creepy Halloween images, festive Christmas scenes, Easter) animals, American pride (flags, fireworks) ordinary objects, life on the farm, fire (waterfire, fireworks, fire galleries) fun events (parades), artistic scenes and far more. Q. How large are the actual image files? What is the format?

A. All photographs are TIF (or JPG if you prefer) format, at least 7.1 mega pixels and most are 3072 x 2305. Some are older and are 2300x1500. These days (2010) I’m shooting 10 mega pixel. All are perfect for printing or incorporating into multimedia projects.

Q. Are all photographs digital quality?

A. Absolutely. All photographs offered for sale on the site are digital quality, taken with Canon digital cameras.

Q. Do you add new photographs?

A. I'm constantly adding new photos. Check back often for the latest updates which can be found by clicking on the "NEWEST" link.

Q. Who are your photographers?

A. Just me. I do not solicit nor collect photographs from anyone else; all photographs available for purchase were taken by me.

Q. What is your privacy policy?

A. I won't sell or give your information to anyone, ever. Also, since you're paying through Paypal®, GillisPhotos never sees your credit card or bank number. With Paypal®, you know your transaction is secure and private.

Q. Are your images suitable for framing?

A. Absolutely! Not only are the photos offered by GillisPhotos a great resource for all kinds of multimedia projects, the images would also look perfect on the wall of your home or office.

Q. Can I license one or more of the images?

A. Please do! Nearly all images are available to be licensed, and I offer a stupendously low price -- $75 per image license, regardless if you’re using it for your book cover, pamphlet, or the front page of the New York Times. Q. Can I order a print of one of the images?

A. Yes, you can order any image on this site and I will send you a print in the selected size on high quality photographic paper, printed on commercial quality photographic printers. Note: By purchasing a print, you are purchasing ONLY a copy of the image for personal use, and you are not allowed to use the image for any other purpose.

Q. Where do you ship?

I’ll ship anywhere in the United States and Canada. If you live in another country please email me first.

Q. Can I order a framed print?

A. No. All images are shipped unframed.

Q. How do I see the photographs you offer?

A. Browse the galleries. Hover over a each small "thumbnail" image to display a much larger photo for inspection. You can also click on any photo for a larger image and more information.

Q. All the prints say © www.GillisPhotos.com – will that appear on my print?

A. No watermark appears on purchased prints.

Q. How do I pay for the photographs?

A. I accept PayPal®, which allows you to pay with any credit card whether or not you are a PayPal® member. Browse the galleries, and as you find photographs you like, add them to your cart. You can then checkout and pay through PayPal® secure credit card transaction, or click the "Continue shopping" button and continue to browse. When you're done, click the view cart link, and go through PayPal® to pay for your photographs securely. It’s that simple.

Q. How do I receive my prints?

A. Print(s) will be mailed to the mailing address you specify by US priority mail. Be sure to specify your address when you pay for your images.

Q. How do I receive my purchased license images? Can I automatically download my photographs?

A. Due to copyright, security concerns, and the ease with which web sites can be "hacked," I do not offer the ability to automatically download photographs. Therefore, for license purchases, within 24 hours, you will receive an email with a username and password and a link to download your photograph(s) from a secure directory.
